Bailes scores runner-up in $15,000 Freddy Smith Memorial at Cherokee Speedway
Driving the Double Nickel No. 16 machine once again, Ross Bailes was one of 30 Super Late Models signed in at Cherokee Speedway (Gaffney, S.C.) for the inaugural Freddy Smith Memorial with the Carollina Clash Super Late Model Series.
Laying down the second-quickest lap in his qualifying group, Bailes picked up a heat race and started fourth in the 50-lap feature event. With $15,000 up for grabs, Ross made his way by a couple competitors and ran second. He trailed Chris Ferguson while Trent Ivey completed the podium.
