Bailes makes surprise start in Hatcher Auto Sales No. 6 machine at Tri-County
On Thursday afternoon, Ross Bailes made a surprise start at Tri-County Racetrack (Brasstown, N.C.) behind the wheel of the Hatcher Auto Sales-owned No. 6 machine in the Tar Heel 53 with the Castrol FloRacing Night in America miniseries.
With 34 competitors signed in, Bailes qualified 13th in his group but made it up in his heat race by charging forward three positions to nab the final transfer spot. In the 53-lap main event, Ross recorded a 15th-place finish.
