Ross Bailes takes $10,053 triumph with Southern Nationals at Beckley Motor Speedway
Ross Bailes piloted Brian Nuttal's No. 16 Double Nickel Race Car for the Schaeffer's Oil Southern Nationals season opener at Beckley Motor Speedway (Mount Hope, W.Va.) on Friday evening.
Bailes clocked in sixth-fastest out of 26 Super Late Models and picked up a heat race win which put him on the second-row for the 53-lap main event. Ross ran third for the first half of the feature before he powered by Garrett Smith and Luke Morey on the bottom lane. Bailes led the remaining 27 circuits to take home the $10,053 payday over Chris Ferguson and Zack Dohm.
