Ross Bailes pilots Austin Kirkpatrick's AK Race Car at Vado Speedway Park
Heading out West to pilot Austin Kirkpatrick's custom-built Super Late Model, Ross Bailes checked into Vado (N.M.) Speedway Park on Saturday afternoon for the first night of the Wild West Shootout.
Among a 47-car field on hand, Bailes won a B-Main before finishing 25th in the $25,000-to-win opener. Finding a little more speed on Sunday evening, Bailes grabbed a transfer spot in his heat race before cosmetic damage slowed him down to a 21st-place finish in the feature,
