Bailes scores Top-5 in Nichols Plumbing debut at Wythe Raceway
Ross Bailes made the trip to Wythe Raceway (Rural Retreat, Va.) on Sunday afternoon to make his debut behind the wheel of the Nichols Plumbing No. 5 Barry Wright ICON with the Schaeffer's Oil Southern Nationals.
Following a lap time of 17.011, Ross was the fastest overall qualifier out of 23 Late Models signed in. Earning the pole position for the $10,053-to-win feature, Ross battled with the front-runners before fading late to land in the fourth position. He trailed Dale McDowell, Carson Ferguson, and Chris Ferguson in the 53-lap race while Donald McIntosh completed the Top-5.
