Bailes notches eighth-place finish with World of Outlaws at Cherokee Speedway

Defending his home turf against the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series, Ross Bailes was one of 29 Late Models on hand at Cherokee Speedway (Gaffney, S.C.) on Friday afternoon for the Mike Duvall Memorial. Following the third fastest lap in his time trial group, Bailes posted a second-place finish in his heat race. Receiving the eighth-starting position for the $10,000-to-win A-Main via the redraw, Ross carried a steady pace throughout the 40-lapper to finish eighth.

He also powered the No. 79B Crate Late Model entry to a sixth-place finish in the 50-lap feature on Saturday.
