Pair of fifth-place finishes in World of Outlaws weekend

Behind the wheel of the Big Frog Motorsports No. 58 Late Model, Ross Bailes invaded Cherokee Speedway (Gaffney, S.C.) on Friday night to kick off the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series doubleheader weekend with the Mike Duvall Memorial. In a field of 39 cars, Bailes laid down the second fastest time in his group behind Brandon Overton before picking up a 10-lap heat race victory. Receiving the pole position for the A-Main via the redraw, Ross shot out to an early race lead for the first 15 circuits until Brandon Sheppard slipped by. Hanging on to a Top-5 finish in the remaining distance, Ross notched a fifth place finish behind Brandon Overton, Brandon Sheppard, Chris Madden, and Kyle Strickler.

On Saturday afternoon at 411 Motor Speedway (Seymour, Tenn.), Ross started the night off with a heat race win, which positioned him third on the starting grid for the $10,000-to-win finale. Fading two spots in the 50-lap affair, Bailes recorded a fifth place finish behind Chris Madden, Ricky Weiss, Brandon Sheppard, Cory Hedgecock.
